Everyone – A Modern Morality Play
Six Vancouver theatre companies congregated on the 80-acre farm near Armstrong BC to create an epic outdoor theatrical experience. Everyone was a modern interpretation of a classic medieval morality play. The contemporary “every-family” grapples with unmet obligations, pleasure, procreation, media and more as they journey towards “the good life”
Neworld’s contribution, titled Unmet Obligations, drew from Marcus’ experiences caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s. The production featured live music, a spectacular forestry setting, and introduced Caravan Farm’s unique theatrical aesthetic of site specific staging and the use of the horse as a staging device to six urban companies – with extraordinary results.
Participating companies: Neworld Theatre, Electric Company Theatre, November Theatre, Pound of Flesh Theatre, Theatre Melee, and Theatre Replacement
