Hive 3

Hive 3

Bigger, bolder and as buzz-worth as ever, HIVE 3 was one of the must-see events of 2010. From micro-theatre experiences tucked into the nooks and crannies of the venue to flash-mobs in the lobby, HIVE showcased the Vancouver’s independent theatre community like never before.

Neworld’s piece, Frisked, examined the idea of technology, intimacy and security. The audience was instructed how to perform a proper body search, to perform a “frisk,” and then they were guided through the process of approaching another audience member, usually a stranger. Everyone was outfitted with an FM receiver and headphones, and instructions were given over FM narrowcast.
