Mrs. Warren’s Profession

Mrs. Warren’s Profession

A post-modern, site-specific staging of Shaw’s controversial classic.  Alley Theatre partnered with Neworld Theatre, WISH Drop-In Centre and PACE Society to make this project an engaging form of activist theatre and community outreach.  Live music, live interactive text messaging and an immersive staging were incorporated to question the modern themes brought to light by the play.

With the help of Creative BC, Agentic Digital Media and Rodeo Queen Pictures an interactive website was launched in tandem with the production.  Complete with a 180 degree few of Main and Hastings in past and present, as well as five mini documentaries, the website served to invite our audience to learn more about the issues addressed in the play. mrswarrens.ca is still live.  We invite you to explore today.
