Blackout Art Society and Presentation House Theatre, in partnership with Neworld Theatre and the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission, launched a theatre festival for immigrant and refugee artists.
The festival first ran in Nov 2021 in North Vancouver. The main goals of the festival are centring and supporting immigrant and refugee’s voices and also addressing social issues concerning race, class, and gender.
Neworld is grateful to create our work on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
